Students Achieve New Records in A-level Results with 93% of Grades at A*– B

Once again A-level results this year place Caterham School among the very top schools in the country.
Students can celebrate two new records with this year’s A-level results as they achieved 93% of passes at A*-B.

The results this year are:Headmaster Julian Thomas (pictured above) said:

‘I am delighted with the
achievements of these 124 remarkable young men and
women. Last year’s results were outstanding so it is a
delight to be able to report two new records this year. It has
been another busy year, even more so than usual with our
bicentenary celebrations and the associated activities and
events. I believe that these excellent results have been
achieved not in spite of the breadth and depth of co-curricular
involvement of our students, but because of it.
They show, in the clearest possible way, that these activities
do not need to be at the expense of academic
achievement. These grades are a testament to the
enthusiasm of our students and their commitment to a
broad and varied education. I am particularly delighted to
see that the 13 students accepted for Oxbridge, another
record, have all achieved their necessary grades.
I would also like to pay tribute to our teaching staff. The
students will know that the results today are also a tribute
to their care and commitment.’

All students at the Bright World partner school accepted a university place or are taking a gap year.
Of those going straight to university, 92% are going to their first choice and 85% are going to one in the ‘top tier’.
