Budding tennis player, Bethany Matthews, is celebrating after winning a prestigious competition.
Thirteen year old Bethany, a Year 9 pupil at Stover School,
has won the Under-16 County Tournament in Barnstaple. Bethany had
previously found her form at the Ivybridge half-term tournament,
reaching the semi-finals in both the under 14's and under 16's sections,
along with the main draw doubles final for the under-14's.The prize-giving ceremony in Barnstaple was made even more special when Bethany was presented with her trophy in front of a large crowd, alongside the winners of the Aegon GB Pro-Series Women's Final, which had been taking place at the same time.
Bethany says she was excited to be rubbing shoulders with top athletes at the women's event, which offers a purse of 75,OOO Pounds. Ends.
