Trinity School open new 6th Form Foundation Course!

We have received exciting news that Bright World Partners’ Trinity School will be running a new and exciting course from September 2013.
We are delighted to reveal that Trinity still have places on Their NEW Sixth Form Foundation Course for the Summer term and Autumn term should you wish to enquire!

As part of the course there are a range of internationally recognized exams as well as a programme of regular internal assessments to track and monitor progress.
Education at Trinity is so much more than just what happens in the classroom. An integral part of the course are regular trips out of school to use and expand the students improving English. These are linked to the themes within the 3 semesters.
The main study areas are split between core academic areas of English as an Additional Language (EAL), Mathematics, Practical English and then a sample of other subjects to help to identify which subjects they would be suited to studying at A level; the world of Business, the Sciences and the Arts & Technology.

In addition to this specialist curriculum students on the Foundation course will also take part in whole Sixth Form activities - regular games and sport afternoon, Life Skills sessions as well as being part of a Lower Sixth tutor group.
Outside of regular teaching students will also have a number of regular small group workshops to focus on their individual challenges and to help accelerate their progress towards the course goals.

Stover School feels the heat!

Bright World Partners, Stover School have become more environmentally friendly with the installation of a whole school biomass boiler heating system, supported by Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking.

Stover School, founded in 1932, is an independent co-educational day and Boarding school for age ranges 3 to 18 years set in 64 acres of parkland.  The school benefits from the historic buildings that were part of the original Stover Estate as well as modern building added by the school more recently. The ever increasing cost of energy led the school to convert to using green technology and Biomass Boilers rather than remain reliant on fossil fuels and5D Energy Group were commissioned to install the two biomass boilers and over 600 metres of underground pipework.

The biomass project at Stover School has been approved by Ofgem under the renewable heat incentive scheme and the school will benefit from regular payments under this scheme. The installation is one of the largest installations of its kind in the region and represents a major investment by Stover School in green technology..

The school approached Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking, which has previously extended finance for a new sports pavilion and also provides a working capital facility. Plans are now also in place to extend the school’s boarding facilities to to provide additional facilities for boys.

Henry Cummins, head of finance and operations at Stover School, said: “The new biomass boilers are making a huge difference to the school and the environment.  By using wood chip instead of oil or gas, we are less susceptible to price increases and we can keep bills down, meaning the savings can be used to invest in the school. The project has also proved very popular with all parts of the school and complements schools membership of the national eco school programme.

Bright World attend Alexanders Open Day

After a quick fly by trip around some of our partner Schools in Essex earlier this week, yesterday Bright World Directors, Fiona Walters (pictured above right, with Linda from Skola group) and Lana Foster, ventured out to Alexanders International's Open Day.
Bright World were extremely happy to be invited by our friends at Skola Group and were thrilled to be part of our Partner School’s 2013 Guardian Open Day, held yesterday on 12th March.

The Open day allowed Bright World to meet with other uk based guardianship organisations, not to mention a revisit to the astounding school building and it’s beautiful grounds.

Fiona and Lana were also able to meet with a couple of our Thai guardianship students, Kit and Sit (pictured left with Fiona and below with Lana) whom we are happy to report are both doing brilliantly, excelling particularly in the sporting and expedition side of boarding school life.

The unexpected snow meant that Fiona and Lana could unfortunately not stay for lunch, but both would like to say a big thank you Linda, Alistair and the whole team at Alexanders International School, not only for their lovely hospitality, but for their help in increasing the awareness of uk education guardianship for international students looking to study here in the uk.

Our Directors report back from Thailand

As the first day draws to a close at the Alphe Asia Education fair in Thailand, here at head office we are keen to share all the news, from what has been a very successful day of meetings for Bright World Directors' Lana and James Foster.

After arriving to a drinks reception last night, the two were ready to settle in to the first day of a busy meeting schedule.

Pat Suchawalee (pictured right)from Education Agency, 'The Graduate,' kicked things off and took a liking to our first-rate placement service.
Lana (also pictured right) began by explaining that as well as an AEGIS (Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) accredited Guardianship service, Bright World counsellors' are also able to offer expert advice and guidance on the placement of international students who wish to study at a UK Boarding School, College or University with a Host of top Institutions’ available to our parents and overseas partners.

So what are the benefits of using Bright World's placement service?

After 12 years of providing a highly respected Guardianship to overseas students studying in the UK, Admissions staff, Sheena Trist and Carol Gill have been able to develop invaluable relationships with the 250 Boarding Schools and Universities with which we work.
Pat was delighted to discover that she was able to take advantage of this vast UK education network.

After a quick break for lunch Lana and James headed back to complete the rest of the day’s meetings.
Ponpat Sivamon of ‘Regency Travel and Education,’ (pictured above left) joined Karnteera of ‘The Supreme Business Centre’ (pictured above right) in order to learn more about what Bright World do.
Karnteera is a friends of Ponpat’s (also pictured above.) and was kind enough to share her scheduled meeting after Ponpat received a recommendation for Bright World.
After outlining the services we can provide to our partners and most importantly to the students, Lana and James were pleased to discover that Karnteera was extremely happy with the care of her students and has plans to send some more this year!
We await the return of the two Directors’ next week, but in the meantime wish them a successful and enjoyable experience at Alphe Asia 2013.
